My Philosophy on Cheat Meals

I will be completely honest, I do not eat healthy all of the time. I usually follow what is known as the 80-20 rule, or as others may be aware, the 90-10 rule. That means eating healthy 80 or 90 percent of the time, and allowing for freedom to eat whatever is desired 10 to 20 percent of the time (depending on what specific numbers you go by.) Being someone who has had a relatively fast metabolism their whole life, incorporating cheat meals occasionally have personally worked well for me. And when I say cheat meals, I do not necessarily mean gorging all out on junk food for extended periods of the day. In the past, I would often fear that if I ate anything "unhealthy", I would get chronic health issues such as obesity, diabetes, or cancer, or that I would worsen my current health issues with Lyme Disease (which has been true for some but not all of the time). However, I have found that eating "healthy" 100% of the time, 24/7, in of itself is not sustainable (and sometimes also unhealthy due to not getting enough available calories in) nor enjoyable (inability to relax at parties and other social situations). So, if you are at a healthy weight, it is important to get your macronutrients in, but in the long tern, it is also fine if you leave room and time for enjoyment, such as having a beer with your buddies when you go out, or ice cream and cake at your friend's birthday party.

Obviously, take all of this with a grain of salt and follow your doctor's recommendations first, as that is of utmost importance.
